Press Release Summary = Following a drive led by the British Bankers Association (BBA), thousands of Britons are reclaiming money that they had forgotten was theirs.
Press Release Body = London, 2nd August, 2007: Nearly 400 people are returning richer after a quick stop over at their banks; the reason- forgotten bank accounts. After an awareness drive initiated by the banking sector, many consumers were reminded about their dormant accounts. This has lead to an enormous amount of money being reclaimed by the account holders. However, many accounts still remain unclaimed.
Angela Knight, Chief Executive Officer, BBA has this to say "Money in dormant accounts still belongs to the customer. Even if you\'ve forgotten it, the money is yours. My advice is to pick up the phone or get online, to the BBA and we\'ll help you find it.\"
In fact recent numbers from Sainsbury\'s Bank prove that many UK consumers have billions of pounds resting in relatively low-interest current accounts, which adds to the belief that Britons are bad money managers.
